How to Survive in Heels
This blog post is adopted from "The $0 Trick to Walk in Heels Without Pain" by Bobby Schuessler, Senior Editor of Who What Wear.
Heels are great for instantly uplifting your outfit, but it doesn't matter what type of heels you wear or how high they are, it always comes at the expense of your feet. Fortunately, there is a simple and economical trick that will make strutting in heels a bit more comfortable. Plus, you can do this trick basically anywhere...
Meghan Cleary, shoe expert and author of Shoe Are You?, suggests running your feet under cold water, putting a little bit of lotion on your feet while they're a little damp, then putting your heels back on. This simple method works because the lotion seals in the moisture of the cold water and lubricates against any sore spots. Cleary testified that she "personally have gotten another four hours out of a pair doing this mid-event." Just make sure you put your feet back in your shoes damp, not completely wet.
You have more important things to tend to when you're at work or when you're out and about with your girlfriends, so foot pain should be the least of your worries. Go on and try this trick the next time you're running in heels, and keep scrolling to shop some of Fortress of Inca's latest spring/summer heels.
